Significance

Built on the believed birthplace of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. The temple was consecrated on January 22, 2024 (Pran Pratishtha). Built in the Nagara style of architecture using Bansi Paharpur pink sandstone with no iron or steel. The temple has 3 floors and stands 161 feet tall with 392 pillars and 44 doors.

Legend & Story

Ayodhya is one of the 7 Sapta Puri and the birthplace of Lord Rama according to the Ramayana. The site was disputed for centuries. After a Supreme Court verdict in 2019, the Ram Mandir was constructed. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony was attended by millions. The Ram Lalla idol was sculpted from a single block of Krishna Shila (black stone) from Nepal.
