Significance
Satyanarayan Puja is one of the most popular Hindu rituals dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form as Satyanarayan. It is performed on Purnima (full moon) days or on any auspicious occasion to seek blessings for prosperity and well-being.

Sankalp
State the purpose of the puja with folded hands, invoking Lord Vishnu and declaring your intention.

Kalash Sthapana
Fill a brass kalash with water, place mango leaves and a coconut on top. This represents the universe and divine presence.
कलशस्य मुखे विष्णुः कण्ठे रुद्रः समाश्रितः

Ganesh Puja
Invoke Lord Ganesh first to remove all obstacles from the puja.

Panchdev Puja
Worship the five deities — Ganesh, Shiva, Vishnu, Durga, and Surya with flowers and akshat.

Satyanarayan Puja
Perform the main puja with shodashopchar (16 offerings) to Lord Satyanarayan.

Katha (5 Chapters)
Read the five chapters of the Satyanarayan Katha from Skanda Purana. Each chapter is followed by a prayer and offering.

Aarti & Prasad
Perform aarti with Om Jai Jagdish Hare. Distribute charnamrit and sheera (suji halwa) as prasad. Everyone present must eat the prasad — not eating it is inauspicious.
