Puja Vidhi (Step by Step)

  1. 1

    Vastu Shanti & Purification

Sprinkle Ganga water mixed with turmeric in all rooms. Apply a swastik with kumkum at the main entrance. Tie a mango leaf torana on the door.

    ॐ वास्तोष्पते प्रति जानीह्यस्मान्

  2. 2

    Kalash Sthapana & Ganesh Puja

Set up the Kalash in the northeast corner. Perform Ganesh Puja to remove obstacles from the new home.

    ॐ गं गणपतये नमः

  3. 3

    Havan (Vastu Havan)

Perform a havan in the northeast corner of the house. The fire purifies the space and invites positive energies. Offer 108 ahutis (oblations) with samagri.

  4. 4

    Griha Pravesh (Entry)

The lady of the house enters first with the right foot, carrying a Kalash filled with rice. She kicks a vessel of rice at the entrance (symbolizing abundance entering). Boil milk on the new stove — let it overflow (symbolizing overflowing prosperity).

  5. 5

    Lakshmi Puja & Aarti

Perform Lakshmi-Ganesh puja in the puja room. Light a diya that burns through the first night. Perform aarti and distribute sweets to neighbors and guests.

Best Time to Perform
