Sudama and Krishna
Sudama and Krishna were childhood friends at their guru's ashram. Years later, Krishna became a king while Sudama remained a poor Brahmin. His wife urged him to visit Krishna for help. Embarrassed, Sudama could only bring a small pouch of flattened rice as a gift. At Krishna's grand palace, Krishna himself ran barefoot to greet Sudama. He washed Sudama's dusty feet, seated him on his own throne, and joyfully ate the humble flattened rice as if it were a royal feast. They laughed and cried, remembering their old days together. Sudama was too proud to ask for anything and left quietly. But when he returned home, his hut had been transformed into a beautiful house, his family well-fed and happy. Krishna's love had given without being asked.
