The Lion and the Rabbit
A fierce lion terrorized the forest, killing animals daily. The animals made a deal: they would send one animal each day so the rest could live in peace. When it was the rabbit's turn, he walked slowly, arriving very late. "Why are you late?" roared the hungry lion. The rabbit bowed and said, "O King, another lion in a well stopped me. He claims he is the true king of this forest!" The lion was furious. "Show me this imposter!" The rabbit led the lion to a deep well. The lion peered in and saw his own reflection in the water. Roaring with rage, he leapt into the well to attack his rival and drowned. The forest animals celebrated the brave little rabbit who saved them all with his wits.
