The Dice Game
Shakuni, Duryodhana's cunning uncle, invited the Pandavas to a game of dice. Yudhishthira, known for his love of gambling, accepted. Shakuni used loaded dice, and Yudhishthira began losing — first his jewels, then his treasury, then his kingdom. His brothers begged him to stop, but each loss made Yudhishthira more desperate to win it back. He wagered his brothers, then himself, and finally even Draupadi. Each bet made the hole deeper. Draupadi was dragged to court and humiliated before the entire assembly. The elders sat silent. The damage was done — not by swords but by an inability to say "enough." The Pandavas lost thirteen years to exile, all because of one game that should have been refused from the start.
