Arjuna's Focus — The Bird's Eye
Guru Dronacharya placed a wooden bird on a high tree branch and called his students for an archery test. "Aim at the bird's eye," he instructed. "But first, tell me what you see." Yudhishthira went first. "I see the tree, the sky, the branches, and the bird." Drona sent him away. Duryodhana said, "I see the garden, the tree, and the bird." He too was sent back. One by one, each prince described the scenery around the target. Then Arjuna stepped forward. "What do you see?" asked Drona. "I see only the eye of the bird. Nothing else," Arjuna replied. "I cannot see the branch, the tree, or the sky." Drona smiled and said, "Release your arrow." Arjuna's arrow struck the bird's eye perfectly. That day, everyone understood why Arjuna would become the greatest archer.
